The Corona pandemic poses a major challenge to all of us. Nevertheless, we want to offer you the best possible study programme in the winter semester 2020.
Unfortunately, many aspects will depend on the further development of the number of infections and the overall situation in the Covid-19 pandemic. What we can say at this stage: We are planning to offer as many lectures as possible on campus, but those will be subject to major restrictions.
The top priority for face-to-face lectures is to maintain a distance of 1.5 m, which must also be kept in all lecture halls, laboratories and seminar rooms
Videoconferencing and virtual teaching will therefore remain an essential and extensive part of teaching in the winter semester 2020/21 for the time being.
For the return to campus it is essential that we all comply with the current hygiene regulations: Keeping social distance, wearing mouth-nose protection in all buildings and rooms (you can remove your mouth-nose protection once you are sitting on the marked seats and keeping the minimum distance), washing and disinfecting your hands and airing the room regularly. And, as a new measure: registering your presence on campus with a QR code system. Please bear in mind: If you have received a quarantine order, have had contact with infected persons, show symptoms or have stayed in a risk area: It is forbidden to enter the university until a negative test is obtained or the quarantine is lifted.
With all these measures we are pursuing two main objectives: To protect your health and to allow on-campus teaching as long as possible under the given circumstances. Together, we will be able to overcome the challenges of the upcoming winter semester and make the most out of it.
