Can I add guests to a team?

(Zuletzt bearbeitet: Dienstag, 28. April 2020, 11:26)
Antwort:

External guests can currently not be added to a team. Students with @stud.th-deg.de email addresses are considered guests, but can still be added to a team. However, this only works manually and not by inviting them to a team via a link or code.

Is there a whiteboard function?

Yes, there is a whiteboard app that can be used during a virtual lecture with MS Teams. To this end, click on “Share” in the navigation bar and then select “Whiteboard”. This function is only available if there are at least three participants. Only participants who use the desktop app can see the whiteboard. For this reason, all your students should install the desktop app if they want to use the whiteboard app.

Frage:

What is a team?

(Zuletzt bearbeitet: Dienstag, 28. April 2020, 11:37)
Antwort:

Teams are particularly well suited for working on small projects or working together in larger groups. This function is particularly useful for digital collaboration between DIT staff members. For your virtual lecture, creating a team is not necessary. You can use the calendar function (see question 2) for your meeting/virtual lecture and share other course materials with your students via iLearn.

Antwort:

Frage:

Why is there a part of the students cannot use the chat in a virtual lecture?

(Zuletzt bearbeitet: Dienstag, 28. April 2020, 11:39)
Antwort:

a) Students participate via web (without having a user account or without Desktop App) and are using the wrong browser. We recommend Chrome.

b) If you add a channel in the meeting creation via the calendar function and additionally invite external persons via link, then the chat is only available to the people who are in the channel. If no channel or team is assigned, the chat works without problems (even as a guest). Thus, the creator of the meeting cannot assign a team or channel to the meeting, otherwise only the team can chat.
