Calendar: How can I import course calendars into Outlook / Thunderbird or update my smartphone calendar with it?
The learn management system iLearn allows for synchronisation of course appointments/deadlines/etc. with your preferred email programme with the help of iCal.

Feasible with Outlook 2007 (and onwards). In Outlook 2007 you can import the calendar as follows:
1. https://docs.moodle.org/29/en/Using_Calendar#Calendar_export
2. Open Outlook --> Tools --> Kontoeinstellungen --> Internet Calendar
3. Then click on the button "New"
4. Insert the just before copied iLearn iCal URL, and replace "https" with "webcal"
5. Click the button "Add"
6. Now you can change the folder name, if needed. Then click OK.
7. If required, this just newly created calendar has to be chosen from "other calenders" for its appearance.

Similarly, in Thunderbird the import works as follows:
1. Please, first of all install the lightning calendar add-on for Thunderbird.
2. https://docs.moodle.org/29/en/Using_Calendar#Calendar_export
3. Open Thunderbird.
4. Choose "File" -> "New" -> "Calendar..."
5. Choose "in network" and click "proceed"
6. Choose the format "iCalendar ICS" and add the copied URL to "address"
7. Click "next"
8. Select an appropriate name (e.g. "iLearn calender"), and if required choose a colour.
9. Click "next", and finally "finish"
